Check out the latest video from LSE CDS' Interview Series: Reactions of Londoners to Chinese Snacks, e.g. Chicken feet & jellyfish

Video Description: It is said that Chinese will eat anything on the earth. Foreigners who travel to China are often shocked by weird things they have never eaten before. However, to the Chinese, they are familiar dishes that remind them of home and childhood.

In this video, China Development Society (CDS) finds 5 LSE students and makes them try th...e following Chinese snacks that are considered as delicacies in China:

1) Chicken Feet
2) Jellyfish
3) Fermented Garlic
4) Spicy Dried Tofu
5) Century Egg
6) Fried Twisted Dough

LSE SU China Development Society to China Outlook Trip Winter 2016

One of the scenic site we will visit in Hangzhou is the West Lake. It is a freshwater lake, divided into five sections by three causeways. There are numerous te...mples, pagodas, gardens, and artificial islands within the lake.

It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011, described as having "influenced garden design in the rest of China as well as Japan and Korea over the centuries" and reflecting "an idealized fusion between humans and nature"

LSE SU China Development Society to China Outlook Trip Winter 2016

Shanghai, known as “Paris of the Orient" and "Pearl of China", has changed from a fishing village to China's most prominent city. This boom has contributed grea...tly to the reform of China.

One of the highlights of outlook trip this year is Yu Garden, one of the largest ancient gardens with architectural features from Ming and Qing Dynasties. Yu represents comfort, satisfaction and pleasure in Chinese and this garden used to be a private garden of a local governor who intended to bring happiness and pleasure to his parents and relatives.

It is the invaluable opportunity to appreciate Chinese historical and cultural treasures that cannot be found elsewhere!!

Can’t wait to join us?
Remember to bring your friends to our trip this year and enjoy your wonderful time in Shanghai!
