In Washington, spending only goes one direction - up. That’s why holding the line on spending increases is so important - it’s become next to impossible to cut even the most useless programs, so stopping increases sometimes is the only attainable victory.
Allowing Americans to keep more of their hard earned money, through the recently passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act should be paired with smart fiscal discipline and not with a new blank check for Washington bureaucrats.
That's why I voted no on the budget deal last week, the largest spending increase in Washington since the Obama Stimulus.

Make sure your voice is heard this election!
Substantial medical evidence has shown that unborn children are capable of feeling pain five months into a pregnancy, and studies show that nearly one-fourth of infants born at five months survive after they are given medical treatment. Right now, federal law permits abortions during these stages of pregnancy - meaning we are one of only seven countries in the world that allows this barbaric practice.
The Pain Capable Unborn Child Act, which passed the House last week with my support, puts a stop to it. Passing this bill is not only the right thing to do, it's also supported by the vast majority of the American people. Polling has shown that 60% of Americans support this particular bill and 80% of Americans oppose third-trimester abortions.
I spent today at the VFW Veterans of Foreign Wars of Lenexa, KS #7397 4th of July BBQ visiting with some amazing American heroes. I'm honored to represent the 3rd District and very grateful to live in the land of the free and brave. Have a safe and fun day with friends and family on our nation's Independence Day!
Nancy Pelosi gave this assessment of herself as leader of the House Democrats this morning. Do you agree?
“I am a master legislator,” Pelosi declared. “I am a strategic, politically astute leader. My leadership is recognized by many around the country. That is why I am able to attract the [financial] support that I do, which is essential to our election, I am sad to say.”
Obamacare is a dumpster fire, the real question is how much longer are we willing to wait to put it out?
