"There is nothing like the Gathering and the impact it continues to have in my life, and now the lives of my youth.

It is a beautiful ripple effect that God has orchestrated, and it is what I’m looking most forward to in Houston—seeing God’s work in the hearts of my youth and the youth of the ELCA."
-Nicolle Layman

Nicolle Layman describes how her experiences at the Youth Gathering led her to a call in youth ministry, and how that call has been affirmed.

"María was a tremendous hurricane. There is still need and the aid is arriving slowly. But with the help, companion, and solidarity from sisters and brothers like all of you we are standing up. Thank you, thank you for being part of our journey to recovery.
Thank you for this effort and initiative.
God bless us all as we continue sharing the love that makes us one."
