Arrival .... This is the first word which crossed my mind when I was setting up the camera to capture this scene at Racetrack Playa in the Death Valley in California few days ago. The landscape is simply mind blowing !
😱 You feel like being on a different planet surrounded by familiar stars. On the foreground you can see one of those famous sliding rocks (https://geology.com/art…/racetrack-playa-sliding-rocks.shtml). The Milky Way arc was rising above the mountain ridge and we were lucky to witness beautiful green airglow as well !
To capture this pano I used Nikon #D810a as well as Star Adventurer from Sky-Watcher USA and L-Pro filter from Optolong Filter . I hope you'll enjoy the view ![]()
Absolutely insane airglow from the last night
😱 Yes, what you see on this image are not clouds ! That yellow/orangish light comes from the upper atmosphere. I couldn't believe what I saw on the screen of my camera when I took the first image. It seems the atmosphere is pretty active now and it allows us to witness some incredible views. The Milky Way at parts was barely visible ! I hope you'll enjoy the view

Look, up in the Sky !
Telescopes never sleep when the sky is clear and astronomers try to use every minute of this precious time for their research. Here is my recent image of the dome of famous Swope 1-m telescope under the stars. In April the Galactic center rises pretty high at night and the views are truly spectacular ! I hope you'll enjoy it
I used Clear Sky filter from Optolong to enhance the contrast in this image. #Nikon #D810a
Midnight dream
Here is my recent image of OGLE telescope under the stars. The Galactic center rises close to midnight and the view is spectacular ! On the foreground you can see a small house (a control room) of the telescope. Green airglow is noticeable close to the horizon. The brightest "star" in the upper left is actually Jupiter. To get better contrast I used Optolong Clear sky filter
I hope you'll enjoy the view

Milky Way over the valley
Here in Chile at this latitude the Galactic center passes through the zenith and the view is truly spectacular ! On the foreground you can see astronomical facility for amateur astronomers who are busy with taking pictures of the deepsky objects and the night sky
I hope you'll enjoy the view.
Majestic Milky Way and Zodiacal light in the morning
Look up in the skies ! During one of my trips to Atacama desert we were very lucky to witness such an incredible scene - both the Milky Way and Zodiacal light were rising above the Andes mountains in Chile, while foreground lagoon acted as a giant mirror
I hope you'll enjoy the view

Under the stars in Tuscany
The Vitaleta Chapel is one of the most recognizable icons for the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany, and it's probably one of the most photographed historical sites over there. I captured this view during summer time in the Northern hemisphere when the Milky Way was spanning across the sky just above the chapel. Besides starry sky one can clearly see enormous light pollution coming from near by towns. Still, it was magnificent experience ! I hope you'll enjoy the view

Zodiacal light and the Milky Way
These nights are perfect to see this phenomenon. I obtained this image earlier, when the stripe of Zodiacal light spaned across the sky and joins the Milky Way high in the sky. Now the geometry is a bit different, but it's impressive nonetheless. I've been asked many times whether Zodiacal is indeed such bright visually ? Digital cameras are more capable in collecting photons, but even visually here in Atacama Zodiacal light definitely stands out and clearly visible for unaided eye. To obtain this image I used the new generation Canon 16-35/2.8 L III lens. Clear skies to all and I hope you'll enjoy the view

Hand of the Desert under the stars in Atacama desert
It does look totally surreal at night ! The Milky Way spans above the monument in its fully glory, and the brightest stars of Southern Cross and Centaurus constellations are the crown jewels of the sky. We were lucky to witness beautiful greenish airglow too ! Some artificial yellow lights are also visible. Would you go there ?
I hope you'll enjoy the view

Orion in reflection
Here is my recent image of the Orion constellation setting just above a small pond in the desert. The reflections were truly amazing !
Calm waters allowed me to capture the scene in great details. The night sky was dominated by some airglow (reddish color), but overall it was a beautiful night. I hope you'll enjoy the view

Atacama night sky in March
Here is my recent capture from Atacama desert in Chile where I was traveling with my friends recently. The Milky Way looks simply gorgeous these nights and the Galactic center already dominates morning landscape. However in the middle of the night Southern Cross is still the most prominent constellation
We stopped by a small pond in the desert and you can see the group taking pictures of the nightscape. Would you like to experience it as well ? Feel free to join !

Storm over the Andes
This time of the year in Chile is called "Bolivian winter" because of the very good reason. Massive clouds form in the mountains and sometimes they produce a spectacular show ! Here, just after the sunset boiling clouds over the mountains were illuminated from inside by numerous lightning strikes. I captured such moment when Moon was rising (giving beautiful gold glow), and the lightning were at its peak of activity during the night. This is the view from Chilean side, while the storm takes place in Argentina. I hope you'll enjoy the view

Starry night on the beach
The weather on Easter Island is highly unpredictable, but when the sky clears you'll be rewarded with some spectacular view of dark starry sky. Here is one of my images obtained at the island, where Southern Cross is shining above the clouds. I hope you'll enjoy the view

Stellar vortex in reflection
Dish of the radio telescope (visible on the foreground) is highly reflective and it allows to witness amazing view during the night. This is the view of SEST radio telescope at La Silla astronomical observatory in Chile
When you stay by the telescope at night, you truly feel like you're on the other planet. What do you think ? I hope you'll enjoy the view ![]()
