Got any plans for tonight? We've got an excellent improv trio from DC, a mind-blowing electro acoustic duo who just dropped their album, and beer. Ziggy's full espresso bar is still in effect, along with all our bakery and pie, but now you can groove to these wonderful artists with a beer or some wine in your hand, as our liquor license has landed. It's gonna be a great Friday. Hope to see you!
We got some GREAT news just this morning, and it's that our liquor license is framed and in the house. SO TONIGHT, we'll have beer besides our usual full espresso bar. With this in place, Ziggy's will be working towards full time hours very soon, but for now, it's all about the amazing show TONIGHT! Two counter culture legends join giants of our own improv scene, and we think it's going to be one special evening. Hope to see you!!!
Wow! This show fell in our lap at the last minute, AND WE ARE SO GRATEFUL!!! Stop on out for a night of music from the edge: solo guitar stuff, power electronics, industrial soundscapes, and aggro improv. It's St. Pat's and we're gonna get weird. Check the discussion on the event page for some previews. Hope to see you!!!
The bad news below.... good news is we've got a great trio coming into to sub tonight. More on that in a bit!!! Throwaway and ???, tonight!!!
We're popping open tonight to kick off a couple days of shows. Friday we've got Throwaway and witchpucker Pre-St Patty's Extravaganza at Ziggy's which is gonna rock, and if you can believe it, Jazz & Words with Elliott Levin & John Sinclair is coming up next Tuesday! More good news to come, so watch this space, BUT TONIGHT, it's an honor to host Shells/Michael G./Ken Kozora, a night where soundscapes will flow and the percussion will pulse. Check the event listing's discussion page for a great preview/interview. Hope to see you!!!
Shelley Salant, Michael G. Nastos & Ken Kozora at Ziggy's in Ypsilanti, 206 W. Michigan Avenue. Trumpeter-percussionist-keyboardist Ken Kozora and percussionist-electronic artist-poet Michael G. Nastos in duets spanning world ethnic and improvised music, Then Shelley Salant plays electric guitar in duets with Michael G. Nastos improvising music influenced by jazz, world and modern texture/ambient music. Think Jon Hassell meets Brian Eno and Robert Fripp. Shells 2 is Salant's new LP which will yield source material.
